Moroccan Students Who Don’t Speak English Should Bury Themselves: Minister of Higher Education

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Morocco’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Lahcen Daoudi said, on the sidelines of a talk he gave to students of the Faculty of Science in Settat yesterday, that “Moroccan students who do not speak English should dig their own graves and bury themselves.”
Daoudi expressed his dissatisfaction at the low interest Moroccan students show vis-à-vis learning English in Moroccan universities.
“I hope that Moroccan students will understand that English is the language of science,” Daoudi said.
“I hope that Moroccan students will fathom this because today, from the numbers we have, it seems they don’t get this at all,” Daoudi further noted.
“Morocco’s future and the future of the world lies with science, and English is nowadays the lingua franca of science,” Daoudi stressed.
